Agreement Reached With Examiner
YANGAROO Inc., (TSX-V: YOO, OTCBB: YOOIF) the industry's leading secure digital media distribution company, announced that yesterday it has made significant progress towards the allowance and subsequent grant of its United States Patent Application #10/431,854 titled “Content Distribution System and Method”.
On Wednesday, May 28, 2008, YANGAROO’s patent counsel met with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) Examiner of the application to review the recently issued office action. During the interview the Examiner stated that an agreed upon minor amendment to the application claims will result in withdrawal of the objections in the recent office action related to the cited Stefik patent, and the likely issuance of a Notice of Allowance. In the Interview Summary, soon to be available on the USPTO website, the Examiner has checked the box stating that "Agreement with respect to the claims was reached", which in USPTO terms means the Examiner has confirmed that such agreement was reached and that the application will likely receive allowance.
“We are very pleased at this important step forward and are even more optimistic that this US patent will be granted,” said John Heaven, President and CEO of YANGAROO. “We expect that this patent will add substantial value to YANGAROO’S intellectual property asset portfolio and be another significant competitive advantage.”
About YANGAROO:
YANGAROO's patented Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) is a leading secure B2B digital delivery solution for the music and advertising industries. DMDS is a web-based delivery system that pioneers secure digital file distribution by incorporating biometrics, high-value encryption and watermarking. YANGAROO's DMDS has made over five million deliveries of over 11,000 songs from more than 500 record labels to destinations which include radio stations representing over 35 U.S. broadcast chains. The number of deliveries made by U.S. record labels via YANGAROO’s Digital Media Distribution System (DMDS) increased by 266% in 2007, to 1.3 million.
DMDS is the only system that can digitally deliver music across the U.S., Canada and the UK. YANGAROO has offices in Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, and London, UK.
